It’s a gorgeous day in the Black Country, a gentle breeze is blowing through the office and through my open window is a clear blue sky and the aroma of cut grass. Later the BBQ will be lit and just maybe a cold beer may wash off the teeth.
It’s summer and this is when everyone wants to work for an Internet Business and have Online Jobs. And can anyone blame them? You are able Work From Home, choose when to work as the only thing that matters is that it gets done, but done properly.
There are difficulties. Isolation from contact with colleagues can be a culture shock to begin with if you are used to working in a busy office, shop or site environment. If you work from home, then you know or meet is ever going to believe that you have a proper job, no matter what you say. There will be some question of envy as a lot of people would love to be able to do it, though most worry that they won’t be able to get the motivation to do anything once they are sitting at the desk. This is a myth, though there’s no need to highlight that, because once you do get going in the morning, getting and keeping going isn’t difficult. The distractions aren’t that many and, to be fair, if there’s no one else around there are fewer of them than if you were in a busy workplace.
It’s more cost effective as well. Ask somebody how much commuting to work costs them in a month and the answer can be startling. If someone drives 10 miles or more each way, travels in by bus or train then the cost, plus buying lunch, vending machine coffee and snacks can be significant. If you contracted to or own an internet business and work from home you get rid of all that. You still have to have lunch but it is a fraction of the expenditure of a canteen meal or a bought sandwich.
Online jobs only require basic equipment, an internet connected PC and the skills to use it. maybe a webcam attached as well, but apart from that it’s easy to get set up.
Winter however can be a different matter. Keeping warm is an issue because if one is at home alone, heating the complete house to keep an office warm seems profligate. Using an electric space heater can be expensive to run but there are a couple of solutions not available to the office worker. One is to go to bed. A wireless connection means that you can shift location in the house easily and so getting tucked up means you can keep snug. But this can be uncomfortable and my preferred solution is a slanket, which is a sort of warm blanket which comes with sleeves and is ideal for using when behind a desk as it will cover feet to shoulders. And if an extremely cold day needs a bobble hat, well there’s no one there to chuckle is there? The same consideration also counts on a really hot day in summer when you can live the dream that sees you at work naked.
So, all things considered, if you hang up your hang-ups and get it arranged, work from home for an internet business and make life better!
