She stepped out of the shower and decided to wear one of her favorite shirts for girls. It was plaid and businesslike. She tried to stand in front of the air conditioner to stay cool as she put on her shirt.
The skirt was longer than what she ordinarily wore and that was perfect for a job interview. She looked at her silver watch to check the time. She added silver earrings to match and a bracelet on her bare arm.
She filled her brown leather hobo bag with car keys, wallet and all the things she needed to take. She matched a pair of brown leather shoes to the purse. She checked for runs in her pantyhose. It was imperative that she look coordinated today.
She had planned to wear her women’s brown boots but they looked scuffed. It was quarter to two and her appointment was for 2:30 PM. She went out to the car and got in carefully. I do not want to appear for my job interview all wrinkled and messy she reminded herself.
She sat straight and drove carefully. She had the radio on and All the single ladies blasted out of the speakers. That song always made her smile. I plan to buy a lot of CDs after I cash a paycheck, she mused.
Music was a passion of hers. She watched American Idol each time it was on. She voted over and over for her favorite singer. She knew all about Susan Boyle. She knew the story of the male singer who got kicked off because his father revealed his winning prematurely.
One of the previous contestants who had failed to win was Jennifer Hudson. She had gone on to win a grammy for her role in Dreamgirls the famous broadway play. She had voted for Jennifer Hudson.
She parked the car and saved the ticket as she memorized the floor and location her car was left in. One time she had spent hours wandering through a parking structure. Never again she told herself and that is why she was so careful each time she parked.
She entered the store and noticed she had a half hour to wait for her interview. She had time for a cup of tea while she waited. He will hire me because this is my second interview, she murmured to herself as she sipped her tea. I really hope to work in the toy department. It will be so much fun, especially if the kids are young. She did feel very confident about her new job and being hired for it today.
