There are many reasons why I have resolved to engages in a New career as a search engine optimisation consultant, and I’m going to examine those reasons now. My main purpose for doing this is to help supply people who might also be hunting for New careers some assistance and guidance on the benefits of becoming an SEO, and to help them discover if it is something which would interest them.

One of the key reasons I have decided to become an SEO is because it is one of the first Careers I have had a true interest in doing in an incredibly long time, and I shall tell you why shortly. Basically I have been unsure my entire life about what career I would like to do, and I seem to have considered doing all types of different Careers at one point or another. I always seem to look at the negative parts of a career, and normally it is enough to put me off aiming for that career for good, so then I have to start searching for something else. However, after performing a lot of research on the SEO career, I could only find a couple of negative points, and they were not enough to put me off wanting to do the job full time. This is my key reason for deciding to pursue this as something I would wish to do as a full time job.

Another reason for deciding to pursue it is that, it is, to me anyway, a truly interesting idea to follow. As the internet is such a central part of many people’s lives now, using it to search for services and things is commonplace for a lot of people. Now people are normally pretty lazy when looking for things on the internet, and most people don’t search past page one on Google after they have entered a search query. So, being on page one is a big advantage for businesses, as it’s basically a style of advertising, and it means they have the possibility there to get a lot more traffic and customers than if they aren’t on page one. To me it is an extremely interesting concept as no-one outside of Google really knows how the algorithms that generate the searches work, so getting the websites to page one takes time and effort. Once they arrive there though, you have put that website in good standing to receive more traffic and business. This is where you also profit, as in my case, the businesses are charged per keyword per week, so it produces a decent source of income. The rates of pay can alter depending on the kind of company you are working for though.

My only concern about becoming an SEO is the fact that, as pointed out before, no-one outside of Google is genuinely aware of how the algorithms work. This means there is a possibility that if they change them drastically, it could have a dramatic impact on work that has been completed, and possibly cause keywords you have worked hard to get page 1 to drop away. However, I feel it is a small risk, and one I am willing to take to start on a New career that genuinely interests me. Of all the New careers I have looked into over the years, this one fascinates me the most.
